CORROSION RESISTANCE

iSTEEL XLS TMT bars are approved by BIS under CML No. 6121345 as “High strength deformed steel bars and wires for concrete reinforcement (TMT) low alloy steel, Gr. Fe500”. Our bars were tested for corrosion resistance against 3 reputed Indian steel brands at the National Metallurgical laboratory, Jamshedpur and the results say it all. iSTEEL XLS TMT bars have been found to have the lowest corrosion rate.

ELONGATION

This is something people probably consider relatively unimportant. Truth is, steel bars need to bear a lot of stress while being bent to the desired shape. They also need to stretch when you put a lot of weight on it. If the steel doesn’t flex, it can snap over time under the weight. iSTEEL XLS TMT bars have a minimum elongation of 18% which enables it to withstand high pressure without breaking.

EARTHQUAKE RESISTANCE

Our computer-controlled TMT process ensures high-quality water quenching thus giving the bar excellent bendability along the entire length of the bar. Uniform elongation of minimum 6% gives the bar excellent bend and rebend capabilities, which are critical for seismic areas. Buildings built with iSTEEL XLS TMT bars have a better capacity to absorb the energy generated by earthquakes, resulting in higher evacuation time.
